Under-sink storage without the fit surprise
Measure around the plumbing rather than treating the cabinet as an empty rectangle. Note the lowest point of the drain, the position of supply pipes and the swing of the doors. Keep the shut-off valves and connections accessible; an organiser should be removable without dismantling plumbing.
A pull-out basket needs enough space to extend through the door opening. A fixed shelf may fit inside but still prevent you from reaching items at the back. Compare the usable basket width and shelf height, not only the outside dimensions of the frame.
Choose materials and cleaning instructions suited to the actual cabinet environment. A storage rack does not fix a leak or dampness problem. Keep cleaning products in their original labelled containers and follow their storage instructions, including separation and child-access requirements.
This is a buying checklist, not a hands-on product review. Check the exact product specifications and seller terms before ordering.
